Ways To Say “I Love You” – Without Breaking The Bank
Roses,
schmoses. This Valentine’s Day, put away your credit card and put
a little time into your gift for that special someone. A little
thoughtfulness goes a long way…
- Write
a poem
or love letter for your valentine.
- Start
a shared journal. Buy a pretty covered notebook (leather-bound
if you’re splurging), and start a Valentine’s tradition by writing
a message to your loved one – then present your valentine with
the book and ask him/her to do the same. Each year, record your
reflections and wishes for each other.
- Give
her (or him) a pedicure – pick up supplies at your local
drug store (ask the cosmetician for help, if you need it), put
on
some
relaxing music, give her a glass of wine and paint her toes!
- Give
him (or her) a massage – buy some great-smelling massage
oil, light some candles, and enjoy your time together.
- Cook
a special
dinner for two (who wants to share their romantic
evening with a restaurant full of people?).
- Give
your valentine an armload of spring flowers – they cost
much less than roses, and they’re a great pick-me-up at this time
of year.
