- Take him golfing. Reserve a tee-off time for you, dad and even your siblings. Even if he's not an avid golfer, it makes for a great time together.
- Help him start a new hobby, or even revive a hobby long forgotten. If he’s always been interested in carpentry, sign him up for classes. If he’s a wine, beer or spirits enthusiast, buy him tickets to a wine/beer/spirits show or tasting, or make a grand gesture (perhaps as a group gift) and start a wine cellar for him.
- Take him out to the ball game. Buy tickets for a game -- or a whole season -- and plan to join him at least once
- Take him out on the town. What dad wouldn’t enjoy dinner and a show with his favorite child, or children?
