Our quick (and unscientific) look at some of the trends and news
we find interesting and relevant.
A British Pub in your backyard:
Airquee, a British company has introduced this inflatable British Pub. Can’t make it to your favorite UK establishment - suddenly you have an option.
More details are available at http://www.airquee.co.uk/pub/
2 Buck Chuck moves to your favorite restaurant
A couple of months ago we reported on “Two Buck Chuck” a reportedly good wine retailing for only $1.99. The same company that broke down that barrier is now aiming its sights on the restaurant business. $ 10 wine at a restaurant is the next goal, and based on the earlier and ongoing success of “two buck Chuck” it may not be that long before you are drinking “10 Buck Chuck” at a high end restaurant near you.

Our kind of museum! All about Cocktails
January 12 th saw the launch of the new “Museum of the American Cocktail”, which is based in the French Quarter of New Orleans (home of the original cocktail – The Sazerac). In addition to the actual exhibit the museum has started an on-line version. It can be visited at www.museumoftheamericancocktail.org.
The web site (still being built) does describe the idea behind the museum.
"The museum's goal is to establish a self-sustaining, non-profit museum and tourist attraction that celebrates and preserves a truly rich aspect of our culture: the American Cocktail” says Dale DeGroff, one of the museum's primary founders”
“The Museum of the American Cocktail™ will take visitors through the rich and colorful history of the American Cocktail, its ingredients, inventors, and evolution. Graphically presented Vintage cocktail shakers, bottles, Prohibition-era literature and music, tools, and other cocktail memorabilia will be on display in a persuasive narrative sequence.”
As if there were not already enough good reasons to visit New Orleans. (For more reasons visit New Orleans official tourism web site at http://www.neworleansonline.com/)
