CAFÉ NAPOLEON

Ingredients:

  • 8 cloves 
  • (whole)
  • 4 cups coffee 
  • (hot, strong, black)
  • 2-3 Cinnamon stick 
  • 2 oz. B&B liqueur 
  • 2 tbsp. honey 
  • 1 oz.  cognac 
  • or brandy
  • 1 oz. gold rum 
  • 1 oz.  kümmel 
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice 
  • Grated nutmeg 
  • Outer peel (zest) of 1/2 orange 
  • Whipped cream 

Mixing instructions:

Put all ingredients, except spirits, whipped cream, and nutmeg, into the flaming pan of a chafing dish over direct heat and bring to a simmer, but do not boil. Add B&B, kümmel, and rum and stir well. Warm cognac in a ladle over hot water, ignite, and pour blazing into chafing dish. Stir and serve in large cups or mugs, top with whipped cream, and sprinkle with nutmeg. Makes four servings.
