Halloween Tips

Decorating drinks in orange and black. Any clear martini can be made orange with some food coloring and black licorice sticks make a great and original stir stick in any highball glass. (try a third of the licorice stick in a Martini style glass)

Ghoulish Garnishes - Iced Eyeball--yummy!

Directions: Use stuffed olives frozen in ice cube trays, or trim and peel radishes, leaving a bit of red for a veiny look, then use a melon baller to create a small hole, and insert a cut olive. Place in ice cube tray, fill with water, and freeze.

Need an Extra Hand ?
For the punch bowl, freeze up a few severed hands.

Directions Use disposable latex gloves, washed and rinsed well, inside and out. Fill with water and tie off tightly with an elastic. The shape will turn out best if you hang the gloves, fingers down, from your freezer shelf. Plan to freeze your uncanny hands for at least one full day. When it's party time, run warm water over the gloves very briefly--just long enough to loosen the gloves from the ice--and carefully peel them off the frozen hands. The frozen-water fingers break off easily, but that's okay--the disembodied digits just add to the "zombie" effect.

Oooze !

Have fun with colorful shooters as well.

Try grenadine syrup (to look like blood), crème de menthe or melon liqueur (to look like green slime), or sour peach or orange schnapps (to look like pumpkin ooze). Or mix up a batch of gelatin shooters in red, green or black cherry flavors. When they are set but not yet firm, place a gummy worm "crawling" out of each one.

SLIME SIPPER
A fun take on jello, this slimmy concoction is an easy slurper. Especially if you use your favorite spirit in place of water.
