Candy CocktailsTrick or Treat!
Candy for Big Kids

By Jennifer Matthews

Why should the little ones have all the fun? This October 31st, invite your neighbors in for a pre- or post-trick-or-treating visit. For an adult take on your favorite Halloween candy, try these liquid treats—they’re sure to be the most popular items on your snack table!

Liquid treats for adults

The most popular (and convincing) candy drinks, according to our readers:

These shooters can be easily prepared ahead of time, either in a pitcher or in shot glasses (the Creamsicle should be poured over ice just before drinking). The one exception: the M&M, which is a layered shot and will allow you to impress your guests with your mixologist skills (see our tips on how to layer a drink if you need a refresher).

TIP

If you’re going to have kids dropping by, they’ll want these, too, so be sure to mix up a separate batch in a very different color from your alcoholic shooters, and keep the adult versions out of the reach of little hands.

Another fun treat sure to conjure up a flashback or two: Jello Shots. Mix them up in fun colors, and add a gummy worm crawling over the side just before gelatin is fully set. While our basic recipe calls for vodka, you can definitely get creative with any number of clear spirits—try lime jello with tequila, berry jello with peach schnapps, or blue jello with coconut rum.
