MOVIE-THEMED DRINKS
Usually with a little creative license we are able to tie each
year's nominees to existing drinks. This has proven to be much easier in previous years with
movies and drinks like CHICAGO, MOULIN ROUGE, and TITANIC.
Even last year's two front runners for awards, “Little Miss Sunshine” and “Dreamgirls,” could both both be celebrated by enjoying the smoothness of a “Sunny Dream.” Last year if you felt “The Queen” deserved the nod as best picture then you could have tried a “Royal Smile.”
This year we have titles like "No Country For Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood." A Bloody Caesar to toast the occasion, perhaps?
With over 3,000 drink recipes we have oodles of drink ideas for your Oscar Party that will help add a little flavor and atmosphere to your party.
ACADEMY AWARD "WINNING" DRINKS -- Check out the "Which Came First?" list below for 14 Oscar-nominated movies that all have corresponding drinks.
FROM LA TO NY -- Can't
be in LA for the big night? Bring LOS
ANGELES to
you. Be more formal with a HOLLYWOOD
MARTINI or stay with the big city theme and
try our feature on MANHATTANS. (thanks
to Woody Allen it even ties into the Oscars theme).
RED DRINKS
Roll out the red carpet with red
drinks like OSCARS
BIG NIGHT, dress up the party with a TUXEDO MARTINI
or offer up a simple hosting solution for your guests with
our OSCARS
FESTIVE PUNCH.
CLASSIC DRINKS
Like
the older films for inspiration? Check the following charts
for movie/drink
ideas that range from CHICAGO
to MOULIN
ROUGE, or travel further back to classics like CASABLANCA, which offer not only great drink ideas but great trivia topics for your
party.
NOT SO CLASSIC - BUT FUN
For those of you who feel that "Transformers" was overlooked by the Academy, then may we suggest in the spirit of your evening: the classic TEQUILA MOCKINGBIRD or perhaps MORGAN's FAIR CHILD (real drinks, all of them -- who could make these up?)
