GIN
vs VODKA...which one would you prefer?
GARNISHES:
there is no definitive list of appropriate garnishes
but see what we suggest.
HISTORY: There
are as many variations and theories of how the drink
was invented, and by whom, as there are variations of
the recipe itself. One of the popular theories is that
the predecessor of the Martini was the MARTINEZ.
This cocktail was invented by a bartender named Jerry
Thomas of San Francisco in the late 1800's.
Bartender's Favorite question: Is this really as
dry as you can make it? Ask that question enough and all
you will get is a very cold serving of vodka or gin. You
have then moved from a cocktail / martini to a shooter.
TRIVIA
Was the martini named after a rifle known as the " Martini and Henry". If so, the explanation seems to be that they are both known for their kick.
